A woman has allegedly led police on a chase through Perth’s south on Saturday, with her two young children strapped in the back.
It will be alleged police tried to pull over the black Ford Territory in South Lake but the driver refused to stop.
“This resulted in an evade police incident,” a police spokesperson said.
“When stopped a short time later, a 20-year-old female was taken into custody.”
According to police, the woman’s two children — aged just 18 months and seven months old — were found correctly restrained inside the vehicle.
“The suspect was conveyed to Cockburn Police Station where she is being interviewed by detectives regarding this incident, and outstanding matters,” the police spokesperson said.
“The children are currently being cared for by close relatives.”
It will be alleged detectives were searching for the four-wheel-drive in relation to “other matters” before the chase began early Saturday afternoon.
Charges are pending.
