Woman cut free after car rolls and lands on roof in Applecross

A woman has been cut free from her car after it crashed into a parked vehicle and rolled onto its roof in Applecross last night.

It happened on Gairloch Street in Applecross at about 3.30am this morning.

Police say they received a call from the 30-year-old driver shortly after the crash saying her car was upside down and she couldn’t get out — but she wasn’t able to provide an exact location.

Luckily a nearby resident also contacted police and reported the incident.

Police, firefighters and St John Ambulance rushed to the scene and found the woman trapped in a white RAV4, upside down on the road.

Firefighters cut the woman free from the wreck and she was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

Incredibly, she was not seriously injured.

Police say the woman will be fined for careless driving.
