West Coast’s superstar big man Nic Naitanui is a late withdrawal from today’s clash with the Western Bulldogs.
Naitanui, who has played every game so far in 2020, has been rested with Tom Hickey called in to replace him.
Naitanui is in All-Australian form and was set to lead the ruck against a team that routinely loses the hit-out battle.
But he has been given the night off as part of West Coast’s compressed fixture given today is the club’s fourth game in 15 days.
The Dogs meantime, come in off a nine-day break.
The Eagles are today playing without Naitanui, Luke Shuey (hamstring) and Elliot Yeo (groin) for the first time since Yeo joined the club.
West Coast are also missing premiership captain Shannon Hurn (rested) and star forward Jamie Cripps (personal reasons).
The Eagles have managed Naitanui’s minutes in 2020 after successive knee injuries in recent years.
He played just 57 minutes in the win over Essendon last Tuesday.
In good news, Jeremy McGovern will take his place as captain while Josh Kennedy (concussion) returns.
