West Coast Eagles premiership player Daniel Venables to reportedly be ruled out for 2020 with ongoing concussion symptoms

West Coast premiership player Daniel Venables is reportedly set to miss the entirety of the 2020 season as he continues to recover from last year’s brutal on-field hit.

Venables hasn’t featured since Round 9 last season, where he was left concussed after a collision with Melbourne’s Tim Smith.

The Eagles have taken a cautious approach with the 21-year-old, who has returned to some training activities but continues to suffer ongoing concussion effects.

Seven’s Tom Browne this evening reported Venables was set to miss the entire season in an attempt to fully recover.

“It’s heartbreaking, really, because your body’s fine, but your brain isn’t,” teammate Elliot Yeo said.

“It’s pretty difficult to get through.”

Venables has played 21 games for West Coast, including featuring in the club’s thrilling grand final victory in 2018.
