West Australian rising star Nic Martin to miss Essendon’s AFL clash with Brisbane because of COVID-19

West Australian rising star Nic Martin will miss Essendon’s clash with Brisbane on Saturday after the club confirmed he had entered the AFL’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Martin stunned when he kicked five goals from 27 disposals and 10 marks on debut in the Bombers’ 66-point drubbing at the hands of Geelong at the MCG on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Subiaco product’s performance earned him the nod as the rising star nomination for round one, completing a remarkable turnaround having signed with the AFL club less than a month ago through the Supplemental Selection Period.
