Vision of a burnout stunt in Kalgoorlie overnight has gone viral.
In the video, taken just before 4am today, there appears to be two people on motorbikes doing burnouts on the back of a ute, as it drives through the Hannan and Maritana street intersection in Kalgoorlie’s CBD.
It was posted online this morning, and within five hours has already attracted 50,000 views and thousands of shares.
While the viral stunt has given the riders fifteen minutes of fame, it’s also attracted the attention of police.

“It’s a busy intersection, local pubs and hotels are still open and people are in the area, then you have idiots on the back of utilities doing burnouts,” Sgt Neil Gordon from Kalgoorlie police said.
Police said the act is quite unusual, because the motorbikes aren’t actually on the road surface, they’ll be making inquiries whether it can be classified as a ‘hooning’ act.
But Sgt Gordon said all three people, the two people on bikes, and the driver of the ute would be facing charges when they’re found.
Police saw the footage online, and will also be trying to identify the people involved through CCTV in the area.
It’s not the first time burnouts have been performed on the busy intersection.
Earlier this month, 21-year-old Travis James Ball was charged with reckless driving and jailed for seven months for hooning in the same intersection on June 2.
In that video, people can be seen walking dangerously close to the car as it whipped around doing burnouts.
Police are calling for witnesses to this morning’s stunt to come forward.
