Nat Fyfe and Matt de Boer training together in the west once again? It’s just like old times.
Only with a few key differences.
Firstly, the close friends are of course at different clubs, with de Boer thriving at grand finalists GWS while Fyfe claimed a second Brownlow Medal this year.
And the west location isn’t their old Fremantle Oval training base, but rather the west of the US.
Which means, of course, you’re not finding a footy field on which to have a kick.
Fyfe and de Boer hit up an American Football turf at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles as part of their off-season fitness regime, and if a selfie of a sweaty Fyfe is anything to go by, they put in some hard yards.
The Dockers skipper posted a video of a set-shot goal of a different kind, steering a drop punt through the gridiron uprights from the 20-yard line.

Fyfe has packed plenty into his off-season since the Dockers completed their final game of the 2019 campaign in late August.
A second Brownlow win was followed by a third Doig Medal triumph, before the 28-year-old began his travels.
Fyfe spent time in Colombia “picking coffee in the Andes” before heading north to link up with de Boer in California.
The Dockers’ full squad returns to training on November 18, with first-to-fourth-year players and some other new and familiar faces already back in action down at Cockburn.
