Wandi girl, 29, charged with speeding at 122km/h in Hilbert school zone while over legal blood alcohol limit

Police have revealed they have charged a woman allegedly caught speeding at 122km/h in a school zone whilst over the legal blood alcohol limit.

The extreme case of speeding was allegedly captured by traffic enforcement group officers in Hilbert, south-east of Perth, on September 22.

Police will allege at 3.15pm the officers were on Forrest Road when they detected the woman travelling at 122km/h in the 40km/h school zone.

The woman’s Mitsubishi Lancer was fitted with an interlock device that required her to provide a breath sample with zero blood alcohol content before her vehicle will start.

But it will be further alleged the woman’s breath test was 0.064 at the time.

The 29-year-old woman from Wandi was charged with reckless driving, excess 0.05, and circumvented the operation of an alcohol interlock.

She is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court October 19.
