A 27-year-old man who allegedly pulled a knife during a 2013 nightclub fight and fatally stabbed someone was arrested Wednesday in Ventura, Calif., authorities say.
Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested Greg Boren using information supplied by the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force, said Brian Alfano, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals’ office in Denver.
Following the fatal Oct. 6, 2013, stabbing, Boren was charged with the homicide. He soon disappeared. Boren was using the alias “Kyle Smith” when he was arrested.
“Boren cut himself off from society for many years in an attempt to evade law enforcement,” Alfano said.
Someone provided a tip in December that Boren was hiding in Ventura County, Alfano said.
Boren is being held at the Ventura County Jail pending extradition to Colorado.
