Two Perth boys, aged 8 and 12, hurt after being hit by cars

Police are hunting for the driver of a Holden Commodore who hit an eight-year-old boy outside his school before speeding off from the scene.

The dark blue Commodore struck the Lockridge Primary School student in front of shocked parents and other children near the corner of Diana Crescent and Rosher Road about 3.30pm on Tuesday.

He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.

It came shortly after a 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries when he was also hit by a car.

The boy had just got off a Transperth bus on Welshpool Road near Kewdale Road when it is understood he was struck by a passing car about 3.10pm.

He suffered serious leg injuries and grazes on his back and head and was taken by ambulance to Perth Children’s Hospital under priority.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.
