Truck crash closes Great Northern Highway 30km north of Newman, could cause delays of up to 24 hours

A crash involving several trucks in the Pilbara about 30km north of Newman could impact heavy trucks for up to 24 hours.

The crash has caused the Great Northern Highway to be closed in both directions and police and emergency responders are at the scene.

A statement by police said while crews at the scene are working towards making it possible for light vehicles to pass through the area, heavy trucks may be impacted for up to 24 hours.

Anyone needing to use Great Northern Highway in the vicinity of the north side of Newman this weekend is urged to check for road closure updates on the Main Roads website.
