A child has been rescued by Queensland police after a man was charged with more than 40 child abuse offences including rape.
Two other men were charged with possessing and distributing child exploitation material (CEM) in separate offences following a five-day Sunshine Coast operation.
Police said on Friday a 30-year-old man faced 43 child abuse-related offences, including multiple counts of rape and making and distributing CEM.
The Sunshine Coast man has been remanded in custody and will face court in Gympie on January 17.
“The child has been rescued from any further harm. Investigations are continuing,” a Queensland Police statement said.
Two others were charged after Queensland police’s child abuse and sexual crime group Argos and North Coast child protection investigation units executed search warrants across the Sunshine Coast this week.
A 49-year-old Eumundi man and a 25-year-old Yandina male have also been charged with possessing and sharing CEM.
They are both due to face court in Maroochydore later this month.
“These children are re-victimised every time someone downloads and shares an image,” Argos’ Detective Acting Inspector Cameron Burke said.
“If you view or upload these images you are contributing to the horrific abuse of children.”
