Thomas Noel Walter Wallstead receives identical sentence to co-accused for Hally’s Bar break-in

The second of two thrill-seekers who scaled a Busselton nightclub to break in for a “drunken adventure” has joined his co-accused in receiving a hefty fine.

Thomas Noel Walter Wallstead, 22, appeared in Busselton Magistrates Court on Tuesday after he and Brock Aaron Campbell broke into Hally’s Bar earlier this year in what the court deemed an “absolute act of stupidity.”

The pair clambered on to the roof of the facility after hours before lowering themselves into the restaurant’s rear beer garden.

From there, they worked their way to the upstairs floor before returning downstairs, setting off security alarms and making a run for it.

They handed themselves into police the following day and appeared in court in April.

Campbell was sentenced shortly after. Wallstead, who has since undergone a drug and alcohol program, received an identical sentence to his partner in crime.

Magistrate Tanya Watt handed down an $800 fine for the act, as well as granting a spent conviction as a result of the 22-year-old’s completion of the drug and alcohol program.

She hoped the large fee would serve as a “general deterrence” for both himself, Campbell and others who may consider such “stupid” acts.
