The White House down under

Through double gates and down a tree-lined drive, this grand manor home offers luxurious, contemporary living.

The Vines Real Estate Sales Consultant Chris Wilkinson said the property was perfect for those who wished to escape the hustle and bustle, and live in privacy and comfort.

“The property is known to locals as The White House,” he said. “It is a statement home that many look at from the golf course and wonder what’s inside, as it is like no other house in The Vines.

“There are several distinct zones within the home – even zones within zones – such as the self-contained area upstairs, which is basically an built-in apartment.”

An impressive double-height portico sets the tone with striking double black doors surrounded by an archway of glass.

From the entry hall, an open sunken lounge with a feature fireplace and activity room offers space to entertain guests, while a study can be the hub for a home business.

Continue through to the huge kitchen with an abundance of storage and quality appliances, overlooking the open-plan living and dining area divided by a wood heater.

“Quality materials throughout the home include blackbutt flooring to the second level, porcelain tiles downstairs, wrought iron balustrading, granite benchtops and plantation shutters,” Mr Wilkinson said. “The home has elements of French colonial style with the soaring double storey and double windows, while Greek revival can be seen in the colour scheme.”

Upstairs, a lounge comes with a fully equipped kitchenette and doors out to the enormous balcony, providing a private space for multi-generational living or guests.

Through double doors, the expansive main bedroom apartment has two built-in robes and an ensuite with a double vanity, an oversized shower and a separate toilet.

Three minor bedrooms have built-in robes – two have balcony access and all share the main bathroom with a shower, a vanity and a separate toilet.

Outside, a spacious colonnade overlooking the resort-style, limestone-edged pool shaded by mature palms is ideal for outdoor dining.

The summer house gives another outdoor dining option, with a cedar-lined ceiling and louvred windows making it ideal to entertain in year-round.

A recreation room with a deck could be a yoga studio or hobby room.

“The tiered nature of the outdoor area allows multiple vantage points to take in the stunning scenery, as well as for outside dining and entertaining,” Mr Wilkinson said. “There is also scope to make upgrades as you please.”

The double garage has a shoppers entrance and external access to a patio. It is complemented by an extra covered carport next to the powered lock-up workshop.

Further features include the laundry with patio access and a powder room downstairs, as well as a huge walk-in linen cupboard upstairs.

“This is a relaxed community with the feel of a small country town, where commute by golf cart is preferred over vehicle,” Mr Wilkinson said.

“On the fringe of the Swan Valley and 25 minutes from the city centre, the location combines a truly private estate feel while still being just minutes from all major amenities.”
