Transport Workers Union State Secretary Tim Dawson will join The West Live this morning to discuss WA’s potential truck driver shortage.
On the front line amid the pandemic, WA truckies have continued to bring in supplies across borders but now a shortage is being felt at both the long haul and local delivery ends of the transport system.
With panic buying and more people buying online while stuck at home, truck drivers have been more critical than ever in keeping Australia’s shelves stocked and economy afloat.
Mr Dawson is also expected to weigh in on plans to boycott operations for Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer’s company Mineralogy in northern WA after his border stoush with the WA Government and disputes over his mining interests in the State.
Compare The Market general manager Anthony Fleming will also join podcast host Jenna Clarke to discuss how to get the best deal on private health insurance on the eve of the premium increase.
Due to a moratorium on price hikes during the COVID-19 crisis, health funds deferred their premium increases for six months.
Later on the show, Sunrise Perth correspondent Elle Georgiou will also join Clarke to update West Australian’s on the latest news headlines.
Senior Constable Mick Slaughter from WA Police is also in to talk about crimes happening around town that you can help solve.
After 9.15am, Perth Now editor Natalie Richards will be on the podcast to share some quirky stories from across the State in the Wild West segment.
