WITH a large family and many grandchildren, Tony Galati understands the importance of Telethon.
After raising $100,000 for the children’s charity last year, Spudshed has announced the return of Spudathon for Telethon.
And this year, the initiative has been extended to give customers more time to donate.
From Wednesday, October 14, Spudshed will be offering a free 1Kg bag of potatoes to customers that donate to Telethon in any of its stores until Telethon Sunday on October 25.
Mr Galati said by extending the offer, he hoped it would allow them to “raise even more money for this very worthy cause”.
“Spudshed is very much committed to supporting organisations and charities that work within the community and none more so than Telethon,” he said.
“The free spuds will be available at all 15 Spudshed stores and with most stores open 24 hours, making a donation couldn’t be easier.
“We encourage everyone to join us and donate during Spudathon. We are hopeful of a great response that will translate into a significant donation to Telethon.
“Free spuds for helping sick kids – now that’s a good deal.”
Spudshed has stores in Australind, Baldivis, Bellevue, Bentley, Butler, Innaloo, Jandakot, Joondalup, Kelmscott, Mandurah, Morley, Spearwood, Thornlie, Wangara and Westminster.
