Peter Gutwein will step down as Tasmania’s Premier and quit politics altogether.
Mr Gutwein announced his resignation from the job and as Bass MP at a press conference in Launceston on Monday afternoon.
The 57-year-old said the “time is right” for him to pursue other interests and to spend more time with his family.
“I’ve focused on everyone else’s family, I now want to spend some time focusing on my own,” he said.
