Sydney’s wall of remembrance vandalised

A Sydney wall of remembrance for police officers has been attacked by someone using a blunt object, investigators say.

NSW Police believe the damage discovered on Friday morning occurred at some time before August 13.

Five panels were damaged by someone using a blunt object.

Detective Inspector Kerrie Brill is appalled the memorial was damaged.

“This memorial is a sacred place for all NSW Police officers and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice whilst serving the people of this state,” Det Insp Brill said in a statement.

It comes after the wall was damaged twice in 2016.

Police after appealing for information in an attempt to find those responsible.
