A fire in Perth’s south that caused up to $250,000 in damages is being treated as suspicious, police say.
At 2.40am on Monday firefighters were called to the scene as an out-of-control blaze engulfed a double-storey shopping centre on Warnbro Sound Avenue in Port Kennedy.
Four fire trucks attended the fire, which was brought under control within 15 minutes. Police say the fire caused extensive damage to the Cash Converters on the second floor and several surrounding businesses.
Arson Squad detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and are seeking information to assist in their investigations.
WA Police urge anyone with information relating to the fire, or CCTV or dash-cam vision of the area around the time of the fire, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
