Surrey Storm have confirmed the re-signing of Sigi Burger for the 2019 Vitality Netball Superleague season.
Burger, who represented South Africa at the 2018 Commonwealth Games last season, won the Storm personality of the year award for 2018 and has described returning as like she is “coming home again.”
“I came back to Storm because I’m excited for the new direction the club is going to be moving in,” she said.
“I feel one should always accept challenges and take on change with positivity and enthusiasm.”
Burger joins new director of netball Mikki Austin as part of the Storm squad for 2019 and she spoke of her excitement for the South African to return.
“I can’t wait to get her back over here,” said Austin.
“I’m really excited to see what we can do with her, this is just the start so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for more announcements.”
