Sunrise co-host David Koch has taken a lighthearted dig at fellow morning show heavyweight Karl Stefanovic in a humorous post on his Instagram account.
The two Australian television fixtures, who are usually battling it out for ratings at different ends of Sydney, are both in the UK to cover the Queen’s death.
They were in the same spot for a live cross and Koch couldn’t help but make light of the situation.
He uploaded a picture of Stefanovic posing behind a gate and uploaded it to his Instagram story on Thursday morning.
“Gotta keep the rif-raf out,” Koch posted before including a laughing emoji and tagging Stefanovic in the post.
But the Today show co-host seemingly took the joke in his stride, as he comically posed with his hands on the gate and later shared it on his own Instagram account.
It could suggest that the morning show combatants are starting to become friends.
Koch previously delivered a strong answer when he was asked by New Idea in 2020 if they were mates.
“No, not at all. I’ve met Karl a number of times at industry functions, but I don’t need new friends,” he said.
“I love the friends I’ve got and I deliberately don’t have friends in the media because working in the media gives you a distorted view of life and your world.”
