A main break in the Sunnyside neighborhood forced street closures and left 11 homes without water Saturday morning.
The break at West 44th Avenue and Bryant Street forced the closure of the avenue from Clay Street to Beach Court, said Stacy Chesney, spokeswoman for Denver Water.
It’s too early to determine what caused the break. But Chesney said breaks are typically caused by temperature fluctuations or a weak section of pipe that fails. The pipe’s age and material, soil type, corrosion and water flow can also lead to a break.
Water has been turned off and repair crews are on their way. Chesney did not have a time estimate for when the break will be fixed.
