Students strike at climate change

More than 100 people massed in Anzac Park this morning for the Bunbury School Strike 4 Climate, a statement by local students that something must be done about climate change.

Those who attended were roused by speeches, music, poems and an open mic session where they could share their views and opinions.

The event culminated in a phone call to Nola Marino’s office when the 100 plus strong crowd bellowed a chanted a message for the Forrest MHR.

Strike organiser Lachlan Kelly said he was blown away by the turn out and response from the community.

“I will continue to remain closely involved with the climate strikes,” he said.

“Bella would be going great up there right now!”

Event co-organiser Bella Burgemeister attended the Perth strike in front of St George’s Cathedral.
