Students caught in truck versus bus crash in Booragoon

A truck has run into the back of a bus with school children during peak hour traffic in Perth’s south.

Paramedics were called to the crash on Leach Highway in Booragoon at 8.13am.

St John Ambulance spokeswoman Kate Hedley told 6PR nobody was trapped on board the Transperth bus and there were no reports of major injuries.

“All the kids on the bus are out,” she said.

Transperth communications director David Hynes confirmed no one was hurt.

“It seems a vehicle has driven relatively slowly into the back of the bus,” he said.

“Ambos looked at one kid but I don’t think there was any serious damage.”

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services crew is also at the crash site near Winthrop Avenue

Leach Highway westbound has been reduced to a single lane and Main Roads are urging motorists to avoid the area.

More to come.
