A man has been charged over an alleged one-punch attack in South Perth that left the victim in hospital with critical injuries.
Police executed a search warrant at a house in Harry Street, Gosnells, at about 10.40pm on Friday and arrested a man.
Arron Leigh Rebbeck, 24, appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday wearing a blue forensic jumpsuit.
He was not required to enter a plea, spoke only to confirm he understood the charge against him and no bail application was made.
Mr Rebbeck’s lawyer told the court that police wanted any bail application deferred until it had more information because the charge could be upgraded as the alleged victim’s health hung in the balance.
The police prosecutor told the court information from medical experts indicate the alleged victim was unlikely to survive.
Mr Rebbeck was remanded in custody to reappear on November 21.
The investigation began after a 45-year-old man suffered critical injuries in the alleged one-punch attack at a house in Hurlingham Road, South Perth at about 11.30am on Wednesday.
