Snow expected late Thursday afternoon in Denver – The Denver Post

Snow but no accumulation is expected for Denver but the mountains could get up to six inches of new powder on Thursday.

There’s a 20 percent chance of snow after 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Snow is expected through 10 p.m. It will be breezy in the evening with wind gusts up to 29 mph.

“A weak system is expected to bring light snow to parts of the area later today and tonight. North facing mountain locations may see up to 6 inches of snow. Most of the mountains are expected to see 1 to 4 inches of snow,” the NWS says.

Mountain roads may become snow packed and slippery later Thursday and into Thursday night. For lower elevations, snowfall will be light and less than an inch where it occurs, forecasters say.

The high temperature is expected to reach 34 degrees. Temperatures will dip to around 30 degrees.

A warm-up will begin Friday, with temperatures rising to around 56 degrees.

The high will be in the low 60s on the weekend and temperatures will range from the mid-50s to the lower 60s Monday through Wednesday, the NWS says.
