Skiers swing wildly on lift during storm at Austria resort

Video has captured the moment terrified skiers were thrown violently from side to side in a chairlift as Storm Eleanor hit parts of Europe.

In the footage, taken at the Silvretta Montafon ski resort in Austria, people are trapped inside the chairlifts as gusts of winds rock them.

Resort staff attempt to climb up to try and help the skiers, but are forced to cling on for support as the snow storm buffets them.

Four people have been confirmed dead in France as winter storms continue to hit northern Europe.
