Secret project in the works for City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder events calendar

A secret pop-up project is in the works for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder next year, along with all the traditional local favourites.

The events team’s 2023 calendar is set to be presented to councillors at Monday night’s council meeting and includes a host of well-known Kalgoorlie-Boulder events.

It includes three sunset concerts — the first being on Australia Day — and the Multicultural Festival in June.

In September, the annual Kalgoorlie-Boulder Art Prize will take over the Goldfields Arts Centre, with the Christmas Street Party on November 26, and Seniors’ Christmas Lunch on December 6.

The usual events will be separated by a secret pop-up project between April 15 and April 23, and is earmarked for the Lord Forrest Precinct.

A report set to be presented to councillors said pop-up projects had been delivered for the past two years, bringing new activities to Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Earlier this year it included a giant maze which saw more the 7000 people get involved.

The 2023 project will feature a “major attraction” across nine days.
