Search underway for Vic man after stabbing

A search is underway for a man accused of stabbing another man in a Melbourne apartment overnight.

Police are looking for 35-year-old David Perry, who they want to charge with attempted murder.

It is believed a man and woman returned to their flat in Wellington Street, St Kilda, about 4am on Friday.

Once inside, they were confronted by a man armed with a knife who allegedly stabbed the male victim in the arm and back, before fleeing, police said.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the woman, 25, was not injured.

Police believe Perry might have suffered an abdominal injury during the assault and may seek medical attention.

He is described as 185cm tall and unshaven, with a tanned complexion and thin build.
