Boys and girls across the State better start leaving out the milk and cookies: Premier Mark McGowan has confirmed that Santa Claus will be given an “essential freight worker” exemption to enter WA tonight.
Travellers entering WA from overseas normally have to complete 14 days quarantine.
However, the State Government has given Santa an exemption to deliver his “important cargo” — presents for children across WA.
“I can announce today, on Christmas Eve, that Santa will be free to travel through our controlled border tonight,” Mr McGowan announced in a video published on his Facebook page.
“I’ve just approved special G2G passes for Santa, as well as for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph, of course.”
“The paperwork will be ready for them at the WA border, along with a glass of milk, some cookies and a bag of carrots.’
Mr McGowan said that he had asked WA Police to assist Santa and prevent any delays.
