Saints end the Rams’ unbeaten NFL streak

Los Angeles Rams have suffered their first loss of the NFL season, going down 45-35 to the New Orleans Saints.

Drew Brees had led the Saints to a 35-17 lead at the half but Jared Goff found Malcolm Brown and Cooper Kupp to bring the game level going into the last 10 minutes.

A Will Lutz field goal from 54 yards put the hosts ahead again before Brees completed a 72-yard pass to Michael Thomas to seal the win.

Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdown passes – two to Travis Kelce – in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 37-21 defeat of the Cleveland Browns.

Mahomes continued the best start to a season by a quarterback in 68 years to hand the Browns a loss in their first game since the sacking of coach Hue Jackson.

In only his second season, Mahomes, who made just one start as a rookie, has 29 touchdown passes and 3,185 yards.

In the late game Tom Brady threw for 294 yards and a touchdown, and James White ran for two scores to lead the New England Patriots to a 31-17 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

It was the sixth straight victory for the Patriots (7-2).

Rodgers completed 24 of 43 passes and two touchdowns in his second career matchup with Brady.

Earlier Denver’s Brandon McManus missed a 51-yard field goal as time expired as the Houston Texans held on for their sixth consecutive victory, a 19-17 thriller at the Broncos.

Philip Rivers made his 200th consecutive start as the Los Angeles Chargers secured their fifth game in a row with a 25-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score to help the Pittsburgh Steelers overcome the Baltimore Ravens 23-16.

James Conner rushed for 107 yards to catch Roethlisberger’s throw, with Antonio Brown claiming the other touchdown.

Julio Jones ended his 12-game touchdown drought while Matt Ryan threw for 350 yards and four scores during the Atlanta Falcons’ 38-14 defeat of the Washington Redskins.

Cam Newton completed 19 of 25 passes for two touchdowns during the Carolina Panthers’ 42-28 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rookie linebacker Jerome Baker scored the only touchdown to help the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 13-6.

Baker intercepted Sam Darnold with 11 minutes left, while the Dolphins also defended resiliently,

Elsewhere, Jordan Howard scored two touchdowns as the Chicago Bears defeated the Buffalo Bills 41-9 and the Minnesota Vikings beat the Detroit Lions 24-9.
