The Russian General Staff has announced that 1351 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict just over a month ago, according to the Interfax news agency.
In addition, it said that a further 3825 Russian soldiers had been injured in the “special operation,” the Kremlin’s preferred term for the war.
The figures are the first official death toll issued by Russia since the beginning of March, when number of Russian dead was given as 498.
