Robin van Persie will play his final match as a professional when Feyenoord take on Den Haag in the Eredivisie.

Feyenoord boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed on Friday that Sunday’s match would be Van Persie’s last as a footballer in a career that saw him spend 11 seasons in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Van Persie is eighth on Arsenal’s list of all-time record goalscorers and won the Premier League in his first season with Manchester United in 2012/13.

He will finish his career as the Netherlands’ highest goalscorer with 50 goals in 102 caps and with the club with whom he made his debut in 2001.

Van Persie reached the World Cup final with the Netherlands in 2010 and won an FA Cup medal with Arsenal in 2005.
