Richmond has received a significant boost ahead of their game against West Coast on Friday night, gaining a pair of three-time premiership players for their Optus Stadium clash with the Eagles.
Sydney Stack will also make his Tigers return to his home state in what will be his first appearance of the year.
The Tigers will welcome back co-captain Dylan Grimes, who has missed the last three weeks with a hamstring injury, while forward Kane Lambert is playing his first game of the 2022 season after recovering from a hip complaint.
The three-time premiership players will be a welcome sight for the Tigers, who will be without former skipper Trent Cotchin and defender Robbie Tarrant, with the pair on a pre-scheduled week off due to the five-day turnaround and travel.
Richmond will also be without triple North Smith medallist Dustin Martin, who is being carefully managed by the club after returning to training over the past week following a five-week break from football.
Three-time premiership defender Nathan Broad, who arrived in Perth on Wednesday night along with a small contingency of WA Tigers, said the team was well-equipped to deal with the changes.
“We’ve got Grimes back this week, which is our co-captain so he’ll be a great inclusion and Kane Lambert, who hasn’t played a game for us this season, who is so valued inside our four walls. So we get a few blokes back, which is good but we also lose a couple,” Broad told The West Australian.
“But the boys have rebounded really well coming off a five-day break and are feeling fresh so yeah, there will be no excuses.”
Richmond are coming into round seven in 12th spot on the ladder with two wins and four losses, while West Coast are in 17th spot with just a single win from six attempts to start their season.
Both clubs will name their 22 on Thursday afternoon.
