A man who became trapped underneath his own truck near Wanneroo has been freed and airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
A rescue chopper and fire crews rushed to the scene after the man in his 40s is thought to have become pinned by the tip truck after trying to change a tyre.
Initially rescue crews, who were sent to the Neaves Road scene in Mariginiup about 4.30pm, thought they would need a crane to free the man.
However emergency service teams were able to get him loose using jacks and airbags to lift the weight.
He was freed about 5.30pm and airlifted to Perth Royal Hospital by the RAC Rescue chopper.
Neaves Road remains closed to traffic but police hope to reopen it as soon as possible.
