Rain washes out third day in Dhaka

Continuous rain has forced the abandonment of the third day of the second Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Dhaka.

Neither team left their hotels before play was called off in mid-afternoon. It was the first time in more than six years a full day’s play was lost in a Bangladesh home Test.

Pakistan were 2-188 overnight with Babar Azam unbeaten on 71 and Azhar Ali on 52 no.

Poor weather has allowed only 63.2 overs in the opening three days but the forecast is better for the remaining two days.

Pakistan won the first Test in the two-Test series by eight wickets.
