Early morning rehearsals under the cover of darkness have already begun in London in preparation for the Queen’s funeral next week.
Photos emerged on Tuesday morning of the Queen’s Royal guards marching from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall during a rehearsal in preparation for Queen Elizabeth II’s procession.
The recognisable guards – who are primarily responsible for guarding Buckingham Palace – will play a big part in next week’s funeral
The funeral for Queen Elizabeth will be held on Monday, September 19, royal officials have already announced.
It’s expected the Queen’s coffin will be flown to London on Tuesday where it will remain at Buckingham Palace before being taken to Westminster Hall until the funeral at Westminster Abbey at 11am (6pm WA time) on September 19.
Earlier today it was announced Australia’s first Indigenous doctor and West Australian Professor Helen Milroy were among 10 “everyday Australians” exclusively invited to attend the funeral.
Champion racehorse trainer Chris Waller, and Australian of the Year and wheelchair tennis star Dylan Alcott are also on the invite list.
