The Narrogin Hawks’ junior sides have done their club proud, with C-grade storming to a premiership and D-grade fighting their way all season to the decider.

Both sides lined up in Boddington on Sunday for the 2018 UGSFL grand final day. C-grade pulled off an impressive 13.4 (82) to 7.5 (47) win over Boddington.

Narrogin led convincingly during the entire match, blowing their lead out at quarter time, 8.2 (50) to 2.2 (14) at half-time and only just lost the third as Boddington kicked two goals to one.

The margin was 9.4 (58) to 4.5 (29) heading into the final break.

Djuarne Smith was awarded the Hunter Family Medal for fairest and best in the match.

Malachi Bolton was awarded with the South Fremantle Football Club award and was announced the B Beacham Medal winner as best player in the league for the season.

Coach Jordan Heil also praised Phil Agnew for his leadership in the back line while also providing assistance in the middle.

D-grade couldn’t hold on in the end against Katanning, despite leading at the first break.

Katanning won convincingly 11.6 (72) to 4.4 (28). Club president Karen Fazey credited the team’s effort all match.

“The D-grade started very strong. We probably kept up with them for three quarters, but they were unfortunately just a little bit too strong for us,” she said.

“(They) fought hard all day. Good credit to the boys, they even got to the grand final.”
