Pro boxer Troy ‘Death Row’ Humberston to return to Geraldton for Paul Barrett’s Fists of Fury event

Geraldton-born Troy ‘Death Row’ Humberston will fight in Geraldton in April in a huge homecoming before he leaves Australian shores to continue a storied career.

The pro boxer is due to step into the cage at promoter Paul Barrett’s Sheds n Homes Fists of Fury III — King of the Cage event against fellow heavyweight Fillipo O’Neil-Maso for charity.

Barrett said Humberston had been an International Sport Kickboxing Association world champion boxer as well as winning significant titles in Greco-Roman wrestling, and this would be his last fight in Australia before moving to the UK to box.

“This is a real world champion,” Barrett said.

“We won’t ever see this again in Geraldton.”

Fists of Fury is due to run on April 2, with proceeds going to disability organisation ATLAS.

On the card is a State title pro bout between Danni Mace and Bec Southgate, with mixed martial arts and Muay Thai fights as well.

The night will feature the city’s first cage matches.

As a stadium-type event, it will go ahead under current restrictions at 50 per cent capacity with tickets available online and at Geraldton Boxing Centre.
