Police CCTV in Northern Territory captures meteor shower

Central Australians were drowned in blinding flashes this morning after a meteor shower descended on NT.

NT Police Duty Superintendent James O’Brien said the celestial event occurred at about 12.20am.

Police received a call from a woman at Charles Creek Camp in Alice Springs reporting the sight and Northern Territory Police CCTV captured the meteor shower in Tennant Creek.

“She stated she saw a massive white light like a comet and a meteorite falling,” he said.

“It lit up the sky like daylight and went out with a huge bang like an earthquake.”
