Perth petrol prices set to hit record high

VideoThere will be more price pain for tomorrow, with petrol prices expected to reach record highs.

Perth drivers are being advised to fill up tonight with petrol prices expected to hit a record high tomorrow.

The average price for unleaded petrol will increase by about 14 cents to $1.65 a litre tonight, with most Caltex sites charging $1.69, according to the latest data from Fuelwatch.

Better Choice in Naval Base will be the cheapest place to fill up, with unleaded selling for $1.47.7.

That is enough to save drivers $13 on a 60 litre tank.

Long queues are expected at the bowser tonight as motorists rush to beat the price spike.

Seven News reported tension between Donald Trump and Iran and production problems in Venezuala were behind the increase in world oil prices.
