Perth Glory’s W-League fixtures revealed for 2020-21

Perth Glory’s new W-League coach Alex Epakis will face his former club Canberra United in their opening match of the new season.

A young side packed with local talent kick-off the 12-game campaign on Tuesday December 29 at Dorrien Gardens.

They have a busy January with five games, two at home against Newcastle Jets and reigning premiers and champions Melbourne City.

Epakis’ side has two more home games against Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory with a final home game against Adelaide United in March.

They end the season with back-to-back away fixtures at Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Glory chief executive Tony Pignata said Epakis was plotting a return to the finals arena.

“We have an innovative and highly-credentialed new coach and he’ll be working with an energetic and motivated squad which is packed with exciting young WA talent,” Pignata said.

“The players and coaching staff are really looking forward to getting back into action.”

FFA head of leagues, Greg O’Rourke said: “The world is watching women’s football in Australia.

“This year’s W-League is packed full of young, Australian talent as the players battle for places in the Matildas squad ahead of the rescheduled Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo and the AFC under-20 Women’s Asian Cup.”
