Perth Glory have come a step closer to unveiling star signing Daniel Sturridge in their first game of the season as their fixture for the upcoming season is revealed.
The former England and Liverpool striker arrived in Perth on Thursday for two weeks quarantine with the club looking to give fans an early loook at the star in their opening match at home against Adelaide United on November 20.
Glory had already been handed their first six-game schedule.
After the Adelaide game they head off on a 33-day, five game road trip playing Western United, Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City, Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United. They can now plan for the rest of the campaign.
After a Christmas break Glory are back on the road to NSW for three games in six days against Sydney FC, Macarthur Bulls and Western Sydney Wanderers.
They return home to face Wellington Phoenix, Newcastle Jets and Macarthur Bulls before two more away games against Melbourne City and Central Coast Mariners.
They get some relief with six consecutive matches at HBF Park against Brisbane Roar, Melbourne City, Western United, Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners and another clash with Roar.
The long distance derby against Phoenix will be on March 26 before two more homes clashes with Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory.
The final three games are away to Newcastle Jets and Western United and a final home date with Sydney FC.
The A-League men’s finals has a new format.
The third placed team will host sixth and fourth will play fifth with both ties played as single finals.
The first and second placed side will now play the two qualifiers in home-and-away semi-finals over two weekends before the grand final scheduled for May 28.
An inaugural Club Championship trophy will awarded to the club with the most success across both the men’s and women’s leagues.
