Hard-running midfielder Alex Pearce continues his impressive start to his WAFL career after being named in Claremont colts’ best players, as they remain undefeated after round six on Saturday.
Pearce missed the first two games this season before breaking into the Tigers team in round three.
The North Albany junior is averaging 19.5 disposals a game, just over seven tackles and four marks from his four matches in 2020.
Pearce helped the Tigers to a 40-point win over Perth after gathering 23 touches, eight tackles, five marks and three inside-50s.
Albany product Kieran Gowdie started at full-forward and was also named in the Tigers’ best players after being a lively target inside forward 50.
The key forward booted three goals in the win from nine possessions and six marks and has now booted five goals from his past two games.
Denmark-Walpole ruckman Kalin Lane had 22 hit-outs, 16 touches and seven tackles in the win.
Declan Mountford, hailing from North Albany, was again named in Claremont’s best players as their league team went down by 17 points to the Demons.
Mountford worked hard in the middle for his 19 disposals and seven tackles.
Royals and Albany junior Tyron Smallwood also impressed for the Tigers’ senior team with 13 touches, five marks and five inside-50s.
Borden product Anthony Davis responded well from his omission from the league side, named in the Tigers’ best in the reserves as they won by 21 points.
Former Royals tall Tom Edwards was named an emergency for Swan Districts’ league team on Saturday after strong form in the reserves.
