Nathan O’Driscoll is Fremantle’s left foot master. The first-year rookie has kicked a stunner, running tight to the line away from congestion. He squeezed one home to put the Dockers back within 12 points as they surged into their game with Greater Western Sydney.
It’s not the first time either — the 10-game Docker has been nominated twice for goal of the year, both with left foot set shots.
It was his second goal of the game, after kicking Fremantle’s first in a dire first quarter.
The youngster had first hands on the ball after a stoppage inside forward 50 and nailed the goal with the assistance of a Sam Switkowski shepherd.
Michael Walters helped the visitors back into the game with a run-down tackle and a set-shot, before Will Brodie converted a chance of his own.
The Dockers trailed by 13 points at the first change before the Giants bombarded them at the start of the second, with three straight.
It’s O’Driscoll’s third game back in the side after playing the first seven games of the year. He was then sidelined by a foot problem.
