Mundaring Shire rangers hunt for lost sheep owner

A search is underway for the owner of a sheep that was caught on camera dashing through Perth suburbs and hiding in businesses yesterday.

It’s like an episode out of a child’s cartoon.

Vision, in the player window above, shows the wooly animal weaving through traffic on Great Eastern Highway yesterday, touring business yards and running through carparks.

The sheep is believed to be someone’s pet or a hobby farm escapee, rather than falling off a truck.

A team effort between staff, rangers and police managed to corner the ewe in an office and was captured.

The sheep does not seem to be injured and is safe at the Mundaring pound but rangers are trying to track down it’s owner.

It has an ear tag but the details are out of date.

If no one comes forward the sheep will be re-homed by the end of next week.

It is the second sheep to cause traffic chaos this week, after one stopped traffic and delayed trains in Cockburn on Wednesday.
