Motorbike rider allegedly caught travelling at 250km/h on Melbourne freeway

A motorbike rider has allegedly been detected travelling at dangerous speeds on a major Melbourne highway.

Victoria Police alleged the motorbike was speeding at more than 250km/h 250 on the Princes Hwy at Werribee on Saturday night.

The bike was ridden to an address in Wyndham Vale and local Westgate Highway Patrol members were notified and attended.

Police spoke to a 28-year-old Wyndham Vale man and he is expected to be charged on summons for driving at a speed dangerous and other traffic offences.

His bike has been impounded with towing costs of $1006.10.
