More than 200 Australian sailors are returning home after three months at sea.
The HMAS Hobart is due to dock in Sydney around midday on Friday after travelling through south-east Asia and the Pacific.
The crew also conducted exercises with 11 partner nations and participated in Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) in Hawaii.
The RIMPAC is the world’s largest international maritime warfare exercise, held biennially.
This year 22 ships and 5300 personnel from 10 countries including Canada, France, Japan, Singapore and the United States, took part.
The crews practised multinational anti-submarine warfare and maritime intercept operations, and conducted live-fire training events.
