Australia’s Minjee Lee is three shots off the lead after the opening round of the Women’s Scottish Open at the Dundonald Links course, Ayrshire.
Lee shot five-under-par leaving her equal-seventh behind South Korea’s Hye Jin Choi who covered her last five holes in five-under in an opening 64.
New Zealand’s Lydi Ko is joint-second after carding a 65 in the LGPA event.
The afternoon starters had to cope with a torrential downpour which left standing water on the course, but France’s Celine Boutier and former world No.1 Ko overcame the conditions to shoot 65 and join American Lilia Vu in second.
American defending champion Ryan O’Toole shot 68, with current world No.1 Jin Young Ko returning a two-under-par 70, six behind her fellow compatriot in first.
