Midwife shortage forces heavily pregnant women to drive 100s of kilometres to give birth

Expectant Carnarvon women are being forced to travel hundreds of kilometres in the late stages of their pregnancies to give birth in Geraldton because of a severe shortage of midwives in regional WA.
